How come does tomorrow’s Welsh Marches Express not appear on the railtours page? I understand it is due to hauled by Braunton and timings are on Realtime Trains>

1st July 2025. Thanks to a friend visiting from Australia seeking a steam experience on a Tuesday we headed to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway in Porthmadog, taking the Mountain Spirit service to Blaenau Ffestiniog and back, hauled by James Spooner. Saturday 5th July – the North Wales Coast Express heads home from Llandudno passing Bagillt about 30 minutes late. It was a troubled journey with long delays on the outward journey from Euston to Crewe and then being delayed another hour or so with loads of loco movements in between service trains before 45212 could finally be attached…

I snuck off from my grand-parenting duties to catch 5029 Nunney Castle on the return leg of its test run from Crewe to Preston. Seen here approaching Acton Bridge Station. – some 21 minutes early.
With two diesels attached for fire risk mitigation (or just in case….?) the Castle didn’t appear to be…

Sunday 25th May 2025 I spent the day at the Cotswolds Festival of Steam. With eleven locos running it was a busy day which saw the last trains of the day the best part of an hour late. Llangollen Railway held its Branch Line Gala over the weekend. Featuring 6880 Betton Grange as guest steam loco and Class 14 “Teddy Bear” D9525 as guest diesel, the line up included the home fleet Pannier 7754, Heavy Freight 3802 and Kitson Tank 5459 “Austin 1”
