Railway Support Services have assisted the Severn Valley Railway with an incident at Kidderminster station.

A BR Mark 1 coach overran the sidings at Kidderminster and was lifted off its bogie and onto a buffer stop.

No one was on board the carriage when the incident happened, but it did happen in a public area.

The railway requested that the coach be put back on its bogie so it could be moved away and inspected for damage.

The recovery involved beams and jacks to move it away from the buffer stop and back onto the bogie.

“This was an interesting recovery that became quite a spectacle for the railway’s visitors. The Severn Valley Railway asked us to restore the coach to its bogie, so that it could be moved away and inspected for damage.”
