The update from Vintage Trains is as follows: “Unfortunately despite A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, DB Cargo UK and our best efforts Tornado will no longer be on the return leg of tomorrows train”

Hi mark, there has been lots of isolated steam bans in place due to the dry weather, but they can be in light steam with a diesel pilot. Lots of these steam locos were off to different parts of the UK, which weren’t in a steam ban.

Caroline is based at Derby RTC and does run under 2Z paths like these.
It is usually, as mentioned above, used with a Class 37 and can be used in push pull mode 🙂

Just an update if you are out for this today. There has been a points failure at Hellifield, preventing the train from getting into the loop.
Tornado is there already, tour now arrived into the goods loop 47 minutes late 🙂

D213 is now hauling the train back to Llandudno, running 231 minutes late and is heading via Shap

5Z34, operated by 60532 Blue Peter, has just departed Carlisle, bound for Crewe HS

I assume the side heading towards Carlisle had an issue as Tornado was already in one of the loops (I assume the Skipton bound side)

We have been advised it is to do with Platform 5 at Shipley. I cant remember the last time steam went down that platform

The ELR says that they are working on a replacement but we have no idea what yet 🙂
