Not shared on here before so why not start now by sharing one of my favourite photos from the start of this year. I’m sure many more great photos to come.
Here we have Avonside Engine Co. 0-4-0 Works Number: 2066 “Ogwen” working a demonstration Slate train at the Apedale Railway on Jan 18th. The day was in commemoration of the last steam hauled train at Penrhyn Slate Quarry, this being hauled by 2066 herself on the 15th January 1965 in steam that day was Ogwen and Stanhope, the day featured the two rushing about the Apedale Railway with 5 Slate. A day that initially started as “come and see us running some Slate trains” ended being a “photo charter” with both engines being asked to pose for various shots
