(Fireman shovels snow and landslip)?
My only recollection of line blockage was with the southern! We would hit and compress snow to become solid ice? Now ice is hard! So we back up and hit it again! Oh Lord we are in peril I cried! ”No”, said my mate, I will give it another go? He had misunderstood me! We had so little Tea? And that was stewed! No grub? But food simply fills the belly! And snow melts in the mouth, So no dehydration till it thaws for this crew! We were in the middle of nowhere? Earth embankment slips are different! Going to Aldi for more beers I stood to watch a big lorry with a 12inch suction pipe out front! (A huge vacuum cleaner) It sucked up loose earth to deposit it in its rear container! Blimey i thought, That would soon clear the rail line! Suck it up to deposit it on a conveyer belt to fill many a wagon! It could be gently pushed along by a diesel on the tail end! You need someone with a fine touch though? Or it will suck up the very rails ballast!
