East Lancs Autumn Steam Gala
Sunday 20th October 2025.
I managed to get up to the East Lancs gala to try and catch some action on the last day. Early morning sun at Heywood and then rain at Bury and Rawtenstall made photography interesting but didn’t spoil the day. Plenty of steam – and, alas much smoke – on display – a good day for monochrome photography, but how I miss good old fashioned and high quality Welsh steam coal!! Here’s a small selection from the 214 pictures I took (many of which were rapidly confined to the bin)
