    Concorde memories

I see Concorde got a mention again recently so I’ve dug out some of my photos of prototype aircraft 002 (G-BSST) at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton, pre-production 101 (G-AXDN) at IWM Duxford, and production 202 (G-BBDG) at Brooklands Museum. Never got the opportunity to fly on one but have been on board all three of these.

    Interesting…

  • (A pretty penny)!

6000 King George locomotive, Pictured here recently with its namesake of the Plantagenet era who ruled England from 1154, reminded me of this solid Gold Plantagenet coin? The last George, (V1) was 1952! Blimey! The History of England now! And how to talk it proper! The lower coin is the 200th (1817) of the humble Sovereign! Gold over £3500 an…

  • (Polar bear or Cod)

I do hope Greenland or the polar Ice caps are not to be allowed to dissipate into nothingness in order to free up yet more of Earths minerals? I thought this mad dash from Fossil fuels was to avoid that! How can I sup’ a pint in peace without the worry of it all? Our greater allegiance with our ‘European friends’ has never been more…

  • (Amazon calling)!

My new security cam that links to my I’Phone via my Hub has arrived! It stores video and recharges from Its Solar panel! Now I am considering that new Video Cam Recorder I spoke of recently! A newer version to my old 10 MP one? At 88 quid and 4K It wont break the bank even if it should disappoint me! Maybe ‘Other Adventures’ is the talking…

  • I search for a modern Camcorder? but find a plethora of stuff I’ve never heard of before? 60 pixles rather than my Sony (4) or Panasonic (10) But only 80 Quid or so? I think my Panasonic was a couple hundred quid many years ago! And they are so small now! No need for anyone to have help getting it up onto your shoulder anymore! And how…

    • I don’t shoot a lot of video, but when I do I almost always use my iPhone because it’s convenient. Never went down the camcorder route, but my “big” camera (Canon) is capable of shooting decent quality video should I be so inclined – so far I’ve only used the feature once and that was by accident when I pressed the wrong button wandering…

I’m going solar! My recent security lights lay charging (so Indignantly) in the Sun to boost their rechargeable batteries! I don’t want to overdo it? Being on the trans Atlantic route I don’t want to confuse passing planes on route to London, to think that they are overflying Heathrow! Yet my efforts are in vain! 80 or 90 quid a month when my…

    • (Locomotion of past)!

Nice to see picture winners on LocoStop! Unfortunately they don’t enlarge for me? No matter, I get the drift! But I write for Amazon purchases of (security cams)? My old iegeeks have worked for years! But are lowly mains supply! For £39 quid I contemplate the Solar powered version! I’m as thick as two short planks! But! I connect to my…

      • I’ve been under a couple of GW locos: Lode Star at the NRM in York and Caerphilly Castle at Swindon but sadly didn’t take any decent photos of the inner motion. Probably too busy gawking at it! If I do find myself back underneath I’ll do better next time.

From the members of (Other Adventures Group)! To the two distant space Voyagers! Launched 48 years ago in 1977! Voyager (1) at 38000 MPH, Is 16 Billion miles away now! Greetings sent now take 23 hours at light speed? (If memory serves)? then that’s 186000 miles per second? If intercepted by other’s? It has a golden record of all…

    • (The light of ones goodwill to all)

The passing of the International Space Station at 6-17am this morning was very impressive! But It was the other bright ‘Star like’ object that stopped directly over the Town of Bolton that baffled scientists and caused the greatest consternation to all Air Traffic Controller’s in the land! When it simply asked directions to Bethlehem?

I often think that maybe I write too much! Maybe (Other Adventures) could be separate from the main Rail page of photo’s? I only write of my broken ceiling pull cord light switches in two of my bedrooms? One broke and the other faulty! The electrician wanted £210 quid to replace? Some crazy prices these days? So I bought two switches for £15…
