I would be rather unhappy if I paid £595 – or more – for a “steam” tour that was hauled entirely by diesels. And not the first time this tear that WCR has done this (and I don’t mean fire bans).

It does seem that the only steam engine West Coast Railway can currently turn out (apart from the 2 in Ft William, and recently even one of those was out of action) is Tangmere. They seem more and more to be a diesel operation
Once again West Coast has insufficient suitable steam locos / rolling stock to fulfil its obligations.
Why can’t they fit their mk 1’s with CDL or fit their vacuum braked engines with air brakes? It seems a waste to keep engines operational that they can’t use for public rail tours.
Timings make it look like it will be diesel hauled.
