Dapol have announced another series of IOA and JNA wagons with different running numbers, giving modellers the chance to expand their existing rake of wagons.
Consisting of four different IOA wagons and four different JNA wagons, the eight examples will be available in Network Rail’s Engineers yellow livery, which will be finely applied to a moulded body featuring several fine details. The wagons will feature NEM pocket couplings and profiled wheels, giving them an authentic look and making them suitable for running in 1:76 scale.
The IOA wagons first appeared on Britain’s railways in 2009. Their high-sided appearance gives them a maximum weight capacity of 102 tonnes when loaded with ballast or spoil. The wagons typically run in formations of ten or more in a single train and are occasionally seen with JNA wagons in some mixed formations.

The JNA wagons, nicknamed Falcon, are smaller in height, with 555 examples in the UK. These wagons first appeared in 2004 and are also designed to carry ballast and spoil. There are different types and classifications of JNA wagons, each class unique in design with differing features.

Both wagons are due to go on sale in the third quarter of 2026 during the summer. They can be pre ordered in advance on Dapol’s website or via local model railway shops.
