The footbridge at Burnside station is set for a £200,000 repair project, which begins soon.
Work begins in two weeks on the staircase which links the bridge to the platform.
The bridge will close during repairs, but the crossing will remain open.
The project will allow the bridge to be used once again following its closure in March 2025.
The project, funded by Network Rail and South Lanarkshire Council, will see the landing area repaired, the stairs repainted, and new stair treads installed.
This work will run from the 4th March until the 29th March.
“These repairs will provide a safer, more dependable route for everyone using the station.
“We’re working closely with South Lanarkshire Council to complete the work as efficiently as possible.”
Richard Kinsella, regional asset manager at Network Rail
