The Swanage Railway has announced its first guest for the upcoming Spring Steam Gala.
Austerity No. WD152 Rennes will be visiting for the event, which will take place from the 27th March until the 29th March 2026.
The locomotive, which was built for the War Department before working at the Longmoor Military Railway, will visit thanks to the Dean Forest Railway.
Rennes will appear in its LMR Blue livery and is subject to the completion of its overhaul.
Rennes will join the home fleet, which includes 31806, 563 and 34072 ‘257 Squadron’.
Tickets are not available for the gala yet, but more updates will be posted soon.
