Students who regularly commute in around Nottingham using the city’s NET (Nottingham Express Transit) system can, as of Monday 26th January, save up to £85 on a six-month Student Season Tram Ticket, which will be valid until the end of the 2026 academic year this summer.

The offer, which has seen the season ticket price drop from £285 down to £200, runs until Saturday, the 28th of February, and is available on the NETGO! App.

The Student Season Tram Ticket is available to all students with a valid college or university pass.

Students who purchase the six-month season ticket will be able to unlock unlimited travel. Whether it’s travelling to college/university, meeting friends and family outside of lectures or exploring the local areas around the City of Nottingham.

When compared to the all-day student ticket fare, which is currently £4.70, the six-month season ticket reduces this price to an average of £1.10 per day. This offers students great savings in the long term, with the bonus that the more they travel using the NET, the more money they save.

“We’re always committed to ensuring that students are able to make the most of affordable and accessible travel across the city. After the success of our Academic Student Pass discounts back in September, we wanted to reinstate an offer for those who may have missed out on the original discounts.

“This offer will allow students to travel to and from their place of study for less, while also allowing them to use the pass for unlimited travel on the weekends too. Nottingham has lots to offer all students, and we’re proud to support them in exploring the city with a safe and affordable way to travel.”

Alison Sweeney, head of marketing at NET

This is the second part of the country this year that has seen a reduction in fares for college students using public transport. Last week, Southern introduced a similar offer to students in the south of England, where they can save up to 70% on fares in designated Unizones.
