The Leighton Buzzard Railway at Page’s Park in Bedfordshire have released its Operational Programme and Special Event Days for 2026.
Looking forward to when the days begin to get longer and the weather warms up again, the first special event at Leighton Buzzard in 2026 will be its first operating day of the year, which coincides with Mother’s Day on Sunday, 15th March.
This event will see mums receive a pot plant present and a complimentary family photo.
April will see the biggest Easter Bunny in Bedfordshire return to the railway to set up Easter Egg hunts for children on Sunday, 5th & Monday, 6th April.
ModelEx will take place two weeks later on Sunday, 19th April, paying passengers will receive free entry to Buzzrail ModelEx featuring live steam models and many model layouts of varying gauges.
Teddy Bears picnic weekend will take place on the first Bank holiday weekend in May, Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th. While Chase from Paw Patrol has promised to visit the railway on Sunday, the 31st.

As summer begins in June, the Diesel gala will take place on Sunday, the 7th, with demonstrations at Stonehenge Works.
Father’s Day, Sunday 21st June, will see all dads have the chance to receive free footplate rides, while the following Sunday, 28th June, is the Vintage Vehicles Rally featuring classic cars and motorbikes along with many other vehicles.
Dinosaurs will visit Leighton Buzzard on Sunday, 19th July, where visitors can get up close and even meet the dinosaurs. One week later, the Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, 25th and Sunday, 26th.
The August Bank holiday weekend, Sunday 30th & Monday 31st August 2026, will see Pirates Attack the railway.
Young buccaneers are encouraged to bring their own water pistols to take part in a water fight against the pirates.

TV sensational superstar Bluey will visit the Line on Sunday, 6th September 2026, following an extremely successful appearance earlier this year.
The line’s annual Steam Gala will take place on Saturday 12th, & Sunday 13th September, and the youngest members of the railway will get the chance to show their skills as they take over and shadow run the railway on Juniors Day, Sunday 27th September.
Moving into Autumn 2026, Leighton Buzzard’s Open Weekend will be Sunday 11th October, and members of the public will be able to see behind the scenes with the railway’s entire collection on display. Creepy and Spooky happenings will take place during the Halloween Half Term Week on Wednesday 28th, Thursday 29th, Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November.

As Christmas appears on the horizon, Santa will return for the 2026 Christmas season with trains running throughout much of December.
