Over the last two weekends, Leighton Buzzard Railway held weekend events that proved to be a massive hit.

During the recent bank holiday, they held Pirates Days, where they transformed Pages Park Station into Treasure Island.

Volunteers from the Leighton Buzzard Drama Group joined members of the Junior Railway Club in water fights and making visitors walk the plank.

People were also encouraged to sit in the open carriages for a water fight to defend the train from the pirates.

Visitors went treasure hunting all around the station buildings, winning them a King’s Gold Shilling

Those dressed for the event received a voucher to travel again for free.

Over the event, the railway saw 430 people visit, making it one of their most successful events.

During the last weekend of August, over 600 passengers came to meet Bluey, and they added extra carriages to trains to accommodate everyone.

Further events are planned for the railway with their steam event on the 6th and 7th.
