The Ruislip Lido Railway is having an open day, allowing the public to see behind the scenes.

The open days are taking place on the 6th and 7th September, opening 11 am til 5 pm.

‘Daisy’ from the Littlehampton Miniature Railway is also visiting the railway during the open days.

Visitors will be able to access the workshop and yard, with staff around to answer questions and talk through the work that they do.

All of their locomotives will be on display for visitors to look at and sit in, alongside their track maintenance vehicles.

Both the shop at Woody Bay and the Turntable Tea Room at Willow Lawn will also be open.

Entry to the open day is free; however, train service fares still apply, as well as the Driver for a Fiver opportunity.

Visitors can also learn how to become a volunteer on the railway and how else you can support it.
