CrossCountry has announced its timetable changes, which will be altered from the 14th December.
This alteration is a positive one, seeing some additional services between Birmingham and Leicester, and between Reading and Newcastle.
The timetable change also occurs simultaneously with a major industry-wide update to timetables along the East Coast Main Line corridor.
While the new timetable has been announced, it will not come into full effect until February 2026, as there is engineering work taking place from Christmas until the end of January.
Customers are advised to check before they travel from 14th December onwards.
“The December 2025 timetable marks the reintroduction of important CrossCountry services between Reading and Newcastle, as well as between Birmingham and Leicester. These changes will help us continue delivering reliable, comfortable journeys for our customers, while supporting the wider transformation of the timetable on the East Coast Main Line.”
Shiona Rolfe, Managing Director at CrossCountry
