The Weardale Railway is bringing back its Santa Express train from 21st November to 24th December.

They have released a series of early bird tickets that will provide a 10% discount, which will remain available until early September.

The special train departs Stanhope station with passengers greeted by a festive atmosphere, a hot chocolate and a cookie.

The elves will then take passengers on an hour train ride through the landscape.

There will be a live performance on board, featuring a Christmas story inspired by the local folklore and festive music playing throughout.

Santa will also pass through the train and greet each child, and give them a present.

Tickets for the Santa Express are expected to sell out quickly, so early booking is essential.

Tickets start from £31.36 in their Classic carriage and £35.96 in their Premium Carriage, with the 10% early bird discount.
