The Middleton Railway in Leeds has cancelled the planned operation of Sentinel No. 68153.

Instead, this Sunday’s services will be hauled by Swanscombe No. 6.

The railway says that 68153 has a tendency to throw sparks out when in operation and says this will ‘almost certainly’ have caused lineside fires.

A railway spokesperson said “We very much regret any disappointment caused but the safety of our neighbouring landowners is very important to us. Watch out for other opportunities to ride behind the Sentinel later this season.”
