Network Rail is warning passengers that there will be disruption on the London Overground Mildmay line over several weekends this summer.
The upcoming closures follow closures to the line in January and February this year.
The Mildmay line was given its name in 2024, and runs between Stratford in the east and Richmond and Clapham Junction to the south west.
During the upcoming closures, Network Rail engineers will replace 1170 metres of track, which has become worn.
They will begin the work on a section of London Overground line between Stratford and Homerton stations in east London.
The concrete sleepers in this area are around fifty years old, and need to be replaced in order to reduce future occurrences of faults and consequent disruption.

Work will then proceed to a second location between Willesden Junction and Acton in west London.
Here, the ground below the track is saturated, which can make the track unstable, causing rough journeys and disruption to services.
Engineers will work to make a more solid foundation for the track. They will then add new ballast, sleepers and rails.
On other sections of the line, Network Rail will replace one hundred wooden sleepers. Engineers will also carry out 65 smaller-scale infrastructure improvements.
The closures on the Mildmay line will take place on Sunday 11 May, and then on the weekends of
Saturday 24 May to Monday 26 May (bank holiday weekend), Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June, and
Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June.
There will be further closures on Sundays 15, 22 and 29 June, and Sundays 6 and 13 July.
On some of these dates, there will also be disruption to Greater Anglia services.

“This maintenance work is vital to ensure we can continue to operate the most reliable possible service for customers. I would like to apologise to our customers for the disruption these works may cause and ask them to check before they travel and allow a little extra time to complete their journeys.”
Rory O’Neill, TfL’s General Manager for London Overground
