The British Transport Police has confirmed that a drug delaer has been jailed after pulling the emergency cord on a train near Rhyl.
Joyce Mukuna is 23 and was travelling towards Holyhead when he pulled the emergency cord, claiming he had missed his stop.
Joyce behaved erratically when he was speaking to the train guard. The train began moving again but Joyce pulled the cord again and acted aggressively towards the guard.
Mr Mukuna got off at Colwyn Bay and tried to run away from police officers who were at the station, but was detained.
Mukuna admitted causing an obstruction of the railway, but denied two counts of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.
However, he was found guilty of both charges at Mold Crown Court and was jailed for three years and four months.
“Mukuna’s behaviour on the train and treatment of the guard was totally unacceptable. Not only can the disruption be costly to the rail network, but it can impact the days of hundreds of passengers.Â
