As the 2025 operating season prepares to get underway at heritage railways across the UK, the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway has released a list of operating days and special events that are scheduled to take place at their home in Carmarthenshire this year.
Following on the delights of 2024, the railway is starting its 2025 operating season in spectacular fashion on Saturday, March 22 as the railway holds one of their biggest-ever events, a celebration gala to mark Railway 200.
The event will involve three trains operating throughout the day, along with a Wickham trolley demonstration.

Over Easter Saturday, April 19, trains will be running while the Easter Bunny pays a visit to the railway, while children and adults have the chance to take part in making Easter crafts or hunt for chocolate eggs in the Easter Egg hunt.
The railway will host one operating day a month throughout the summer on the following dates:
- Saturday 10th May
- Saturday 7th June
- Saturday 5th July
- Saturday 9th August
A Halloween event consisting of ghost trains and spooky goings-on will take place on Sunday, October 26, there will also be Halloween-themed games and fun for all the family.

Before long, it will soon be time for Christmas once more, and the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway will hold two running days in December on Sunday the 7th & 14th.
Santa Special trains will be operating on these days during which Santa will visit every child and give them a present, while holiday season refreshments will be available for everyone to enjoy.
