Northern is urging passengers to check before travelling as Storm Eowyn has caused some more lines to close.
All lines between Wigan Wallgate and Southport have been closed with disruption expected until 12:30.
Passengers can use Northern trains to Headbolt Lane to connect with Merseyrail services to Southport.
Ticket acceptance will be in place with Merseyrail until the end of the day.
Severe weather between Manchester Piccadilly and New Mills Central means that some of the lines are closed. Trains may be cancelled or diverted, with Belle Vue, Ryder Brow, Reddish North, Brinnington and Bredbury not being served by a train.
