Between the 14th & 16th February 2017, Steam Locomotive A1 Peppercorn No. 60163 ‘Tornado’ replaced Diesel DMU services between Skipton and Appleby and completed 12 trips in total.

After a 5:30am wake up call, we see the A1 at Settle, which was our most lucky shot of the day (Steam was running 12 minutes behind schedule meaning our DMU trip from Settle to Ribblehead should have already left – but this was running late too!).

We also see some Tornado at Skipton, Gargrave, Hellifield, Ribblehead and Appleby. Some ‘On Train’ shots are also included, but ‘Out Of The Window’ filming is not permitted.

Unfortunately, a technical fault with our microphone meant no sound was recorded for the Ribblehead shot. It was so good of a shot to leave out 😉

Big thanks to DansRailVideos for spending the day with us! See his video here

Another big thanks go to Northern Rail, DB Cargo UK, Settle & Carlisle Railway, Steam Railway, RAIL Magazine and The A1 Steam Loco Trust who put all of this together!
