But last year he journeyed behind the above engine on a Taunton Minehead steam heritage tour! He visited me today for a natter! He struggled down the steps to my back garden? So I didn’t suggest a walk to the nearby river? I could still shin up the cab steps to the cab of a loco? But how many miles firing could I muster? I spose the 90 Austerity, 9F or the GW Halls of Owsden or Witherslack might be my last memory? (Excluding diesel) but the Midland and Southern would snatch my attention to be the oldest fireman in town! If only on Rail Advent? A glass of wine while listening to Frank Sinatra? So what floats your boat this day! Until that insatiable sniff of steam excites your memory cells! To then walk out to have a gander! Down memory lane!
