It was, that’s a reason I always like heading for Ribble Steam gala in Preston, lots of opportunity to see engines not always in the limelight.If ELR would stick to a timetable, that would also be helpful.

@johns apparently they had a major problem with the first two trains at Rawtenstall on Saturday morning as the token unlocking the points was not working.

It is understandable how tech things happen, but it was a long way out on Sunday, and I cannot remember a gala that runs on time. The unreliability put me off traveling this weekend, I could not risk being stranded somewhere on the line.

@johns Nearly happened to us on Sunday, they cancelled the two Well tanks and then ran the 1520 with the wrong loco with about 2 minutes notice. Had it have not been for a kind photographer letting us know, our car would have been at Summerseat and we would have been at Bury Bolton Street as the one after was the quad header that was express to Ramsbottom
