It’s not set in stone that it will use platform 6 as this can change dynamically depending on other train movements especially if any of them are running early or late, or even terminating short. As they are running the steam with a head code it should be displayed on the station’s arrivals and departure board.

This Saturday 31st it’ll be stopping at Preston Lancs to pick up passengers. I’m going there to see it. Any idea what platform it might use?

Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express Saturday 21 February.

I’m looking at Mainline Steam tours. There’s a Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express showing on 21st February. The tour operator is The Railway Touring Company. Looking on their website I can see one on Saturday 7th and 28th February but not the 21st. Does anyone know why it’s not advertised. I’m a new member so might be missing something.

The update from Vintage Trains is as follows: “Unfortunately despite A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, DB Cargo UK and our best efforts Tornado will no longer be on the return leg of tomorrows train”

Just a quick update from Vintage Trains this evening regarding tomorrow’s Christmas White Rose trip.

Unfortunately, due to an unconfirmed issue, 60163 Tornado will no longer be double heading with 5043 on the return trip.
