The Branch Line Society has announced that it will be offering special shuttle charter trains to The Greatest Gathering.

They plan to operate 2 shuttles a day, connecting to Chesterfield and/ or Derby.

There are rail links out of both stations, and they connect well with motorways, with parking available.

Shuttles have been timed specifically with train arrivals, and even if you didn’t snag tickets to The Greatest Gathering, you can still travel on the shuttle.

Each shuttle can be booked separately for £50, and they will be offering an accompanied under-18s price of £1.

The actual locomotives running the shuttles can not be confirmed until the day; however, some rare locomotives have been requested.

Timings and routes are awaiting confirmation by Network Rail, with final timings to be released 5 days ahead of the shuttle.

Further information on timings and booking can be found here.

  1. That is a great idea, but what would be better is a shuttle from the Derby station to Alstrom works as it is a good walk from Derby Station to the site, and there has been no mention yet of parking at the event, Just a thought
