Rapido Trains UK has made a concurrent announcement of three new OO Gauge models featuring a Lancashire & Yorkshire (L&Y) Class 25 ‘Ironclad’ 0-6-0, a train pack based on The Railway Children film, and a War Department Rectank bogie wagon.

L&Y Class 25 ‘Ironclad’

Twelve different versions of the L&Y Class 25 ‘Ironclad’ will be available with liveries covering their service with the L&Y, LMS, British Railways, and a preserved example.

They will feature many separately fitted era-specific details, sprung buffers, and firebox flicker with a dynamic fire draw effect.

Liveries to be available include:

• Lancashire & Yorkshire lined black (post-1890), two models in lined goods livery (post-1901), and a preservation example.
• LMS Livery with a tender number and three examples with a cabside number.
• British Railways with Sans Serif lettering and three examples of an early crest.

The Railway Children Train Pack

The Railway Children Train Pack includes a Great Northern and Southern Railway (GNSR) 0-6-0 No. 957 Green Dragon, three Evolution coaches, and an assortment of accessories.

Green Dragon features a firebox flicker with a dynamic fire draw effect, whilst the Evolution coaches are in GNSR livery and have round-topped doors, similar to those in the coaches in the film. Accessories include 3D printed colour figures of the Railway Children Bobbie, Phyllis and Peter, a Great Northern and Southern Railway poster and tickets, and a print of Green Dragon by well-known railway artist Jonathan Clay.

OO Gauge WD 35T Rectank Bogie Wagon

In 1916, the British Army developed a new type of wagon, which they kept secret by designating them as a type of all-terrain water carrier, which was nicknamed the ‘Tank, ’a name later adopted as their formal title.

Nineteen different versions are available with detailed differences such as jack mounts, jacks on the ends and centre, chain boxes, bolsters and additional tiedowns. They include versions with removable loads such as covered WW1 tank, steel girders, Ingot moulds, wagon wheels, and flanged pipes.

Liveries will cover War Department grey, LNWR grey, GWR, LMS, and LNER grey, Midland Region green, British Railways grey, Army green, and Industrial (GKN) black.
