The Branch Line Society announce The Welsh Dragon Mini tour set for this May

The Branch Line Society have announced a limited-availability mini tour titled ‘The Welsh Dragon’, scheduled for Saturday 2 May 2026.

The journey will take passengers from Llandudno to Holyhead, a destination not visited by HST services for over two decades, via Anglesey. Highlights include passing Conwy Castle and crossing the Britannia Bridge.

Departing around midday, the four-hour round trip includes a brief stop at Holyhead before returning via Conway, the Britannia Bridge, and Anglesey. Tour times to be confirmed with Network Rail in due course.

Onboard facilities include refreshments (Coach F), merchandise (Coach C), and both First and Standard Class seating options.

Operated in partnership with 125 Group and Railadventure, the excursion will use a High Speed Train in a 2+7 formation following arrival at Llandudno.

Ticket Pricing:

Standard Class – £25

First Class (non-dining) – £35

First Class (non-dining, reserved table for 2) – £55

Under-18s have a £5 reduction in all fares
