The 2026 season at the Severn Valley Railway kicks off in half-term with the first service operating on the 14th February.

Services will operate on the 14th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 21st and 22nd February, with Paddington Bear visiting from the 17th to 19th.

There’s plenty to do aside from riding the train, with The Engine House at Highley being open for children to enjoy.

The cafes and gift shops along the route will also be open to get a souvenir of the day.

Booking tickets in advance can save visitors up to 20%, and on the day, tickets can be purchased from the booking offices without the discount.

A Freedom of the Line ticket will also be available, providing unlimited travel on the day.

Further information can be found on their website.

Don’t forget about their Spring Steam Gala from the 16th to the 19th of April, where BR 71000 Duke of Gloucester will be visiting for the event.

“A visit to the SVR is about so much more than just a train journey. We want families to slow down, explore together and discover all the little moments along the line – whether that’s playing at The Engine House, meeting a favourite character, or simply enjoying time together on the platform. It’s those shared experiences that help families make lasting memories.”

Lewis Maddox, visitor engagement manager at the Severn Valley Railway
