Transport for Greater Manchester will be carrying out some essential work on its tram network next month.
On the 1st and 2nd November, work will be underway at Trafford Bar, meaning that no trams will run between Cornbrook and Sale Water Park, East Didsbury or Old Trafford.
Replacement buses will be in place between Manchester Victoria and East Disbury, with tram tickets only being accepted on these replacement bus services.
Altrincham trams will be running to Trafford Bar, and Manchester Airport trams will be running to Sale Water Park, with buses in place for travel to the city centre.
Across both days, passengers should note that Rochdale-bound trams will be starting at Exchange Square.
On the 1st, peak trams on the Shaw and Crompton line will start at Victoria.
Trafford centre services will run to Crumpsall on the 1st, and to Etihad Campus on the 2nd.
Services will return to normal on the 3rd November, with further information available here.
“These works are essential to ensuring our tram network remains safe, reliable and resilient for years to and will help us meet increasing demand as more people choose to use to use the Bee Network to get around Greater Manchester.
“The work has been planned for a weekend to minimise the impact on passengers, particularly those who rely on tram travel to get to work. We apologise for the disruption and thank everyone for bearing with us while this work is critical work is carried out. I would also encourage people to plan ahead using the Bee Network app or website.”
Ian Davies, TfGM’s Network Director for Metrolink
