This September, The Watercress Line is welcoming Wallace and Gromit to Ropley station.
Cheese lovers are in for a ‘grate’ time when the pair visit for a weekend of ‘Cracking Hobbies’.
Visitors can catch the duo for a photo opportunity on the 27th and 28th of September.
The weekend will feature ‘Railway’s on the Air’ at Ropley Waiting Shelter, where visitors can learn more about amateur radio and talk to other railways across the country.
They will also be offering a Cheesy Afternoon Tea for £12 and a free Wallace and Gromit themed activity trail.
Local Scout and Guide groups will be there with hands-on activities, including the activity trail and a Train Track Challenge at Alresford.
Booking early for this event is advised, with further information found online.
“I’m a huge Wallace & Gromit fan and love the tradition of inventiveness, fun and gentle humour that draws from the great British engineering heritage. It’s a perfect match for the atmosphere here on the railway.
“We’ve packed the weekend with cracking activities designed to inspire creativity and encourage people to try something new, whether that’s connecting on amateur radio, following the fun Wallace & Gromit activity trail or enjoying a delicious cheesy afternoon tea with friends and family.
“Our heritage railway has always been a favourite place for families to make memories, and with Wallace & Gromit on board, we think this event will be a real cream cracker!”
Rebecca Dalley, CEO of The Watercress Line
