Passengers who use the West Coast Mainline are being thanked for their patience while major projects have been underway over the bank holiday.

From the 3rd of May til the 5th of May, engineers were working on the West Coast Mainline to complete complex upgrades.

Included in this work were drainage improvements near Tring, which involved installing 34 drainage pipes and six concrete catch pits to prevent flooding.

Embankment strengthening was completed at Harlesden to help prevent landslides.

Additional maintenance work took place between London Euston and Willesden, with bridge brickwork being repaired, upgrading overhead powerlines, running new cables and renewing junctions.

London Euston was closed for a planned two days whilst work was carried out and is now reopened.

Further work is planned later on in May, leading into June (24th – 1st) for further engineering work and rail replacement buses will be in place during this time. Replacement service information can be found online here.
