Last week, 60163 Tornado went on a test run between Carnforth and Hellifield, and thankfully, the test run was a success.
With a light engine test run and a loaded test run now complete, the locomotive is now available for use on the mainline.
Tornado is now expected to move to Shrewsbury this week for ETCS testing before its railtour programme can begin.
The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust has announced a couple of dates, where 60163 Tornado will be in passenger service; these are:
- The Great Britain (30th April): Edinburgh – Inverness
- The Great Britain (2nd May): Inverness – Edinburgh
- The Great Britain (3rd May): Newcastle – Peterborough
We thank you for all your support as we welcome Tornado back to the main line and look ahead to an exciting year.
