Some train fares will go as low as low as £6 thanks to new deals from TransPennine Express.

Students can enjoy 50% off, whilst those over 55 can take advantage of fares of just £25.

Students with a 16-25 railcard can use code TPESTUDENT on the app or on their website, meaning Manchester to Leeds can be bought for just £6 or Manchester to Glasgow for just £10.15.

Club 55 offers people the chance to explore the North of England and Scotland. Passengers will need to carry proof of age with them but will mean that prices will be capped at £25 in standard class and £45 for a First Class ticket.

“Whether you’re visiting friends and family back home or just fancy exploring a new city, you can now bag yourself a bargain with our student offer.

“With our network serving more than 40 universities across the north of England and Scotland, we’re delighted to be able to offer 50 per cent savings on rail travel to students.”

“We’re proud to connect the North of England and Scotland, especially as there is so much see and do across our region. From exploring some of our most beautiful historic cities in York and Edinburgh to shopping trips in Leeds and Liverpool.”

Darren Higgins, Commercial Director for TransPennine Express
